Fun with H2O
A little experiment in water colour (or color for our American friends) that I painted for my wife. Could make a nice greeting card.

Joel's Paper Craft Dragon
Sometime ago a good artist and friend of mine, Joel Duggan drew this awesome dragon. I thought it was pretty cool so I took a stab at making it into a paper craft. This was my first attempt at taking a flat image and sculpting it with paper. I was and still am happy with how he turned out.
In other news, Joel produces a weekly webcomic about dating called Starcrossed and he is co-host of a very entertaining podcast called the Digital Dating Podcast. Both things are really worth taking the time to check out. Your funny bone may just thank you. It looks like my posts are becoming more regular so I'm going to keep this up and have a new post up every Monday.
Until then see you around.

CooCoo Paper Craft
Here is my latest paper craft.
It is a CooCoo Clock that I made for my son's room. I'm pretty happy with the results. What do you think?

be mime pop-up card and free template
So just incase you haven't gotten to the card store yet and you have access to a computer and you have some card stock handy (I mean who doesn't have tons of card stock in their house?) here is a few snaps of my "be mime" pop-up card.
I think the directions are clear and it should be pretty straight forward to do. If you have any questions just drop me a line. My contact info is on my profile page.
Happy V day to one and all. More goodness coming soon.

Pop-up Birthday for my boy
Here is the pop-up birthday card I made for my son's 1st birthday party. We had a bunch of family and friends here yesterday (in the house and on skype) for a party for him and he had a really good time. He's one so I guess anytime is a good time when your schedule consists of eating, playing and sleeping.
In the card he is wearing an old set of pajama's that he has long outgrown but they were a favorite of his mothers. The chair is based off of his high chair but I didn't realize until I had the card completed that the oval on the back of the chair looks like a red halo. He is a cross of a monster and an angel anyway so that kind of works.
More stuff coming in the future but thanks for stopping by.

Mr. Monocle (100th post)
Here is another painting that I did for my son's first birthday. This also is my 100th post on cardboardtreehouse.com I be sure to post more often with the aim of getting to the next 100 posts in a more timely fashion. I really had some fun with this fella, I think I'll make him into a sculpture sometime when I have an opportunity. This was my first painting in some time. I painted him with acrylic paint on a 8X8 canvas. Hope you enjoy him. I'll be doing more paintings over the next little while so check back soon.
